In 2015, a newly built L-shaped primary school in Nottingham opened its doors, providing pupils with a modern, high-quality learning environment. The building featured fresh render, which gave it a bright, clean appearance.

By 2020, five years after completion, the render had become heavily stained due to algae growth and airborne contaminants. With no maintenance carried out since installation, the surface had lost its original aesthetic and required urgent attention.

Brooklands was called in to provide a tailored render maintenance solution.The contamination was too extensive for cleaning alone to restore the render to its original condition. Our team implemented a multi-step process:

• Sanitisation to kill algae and prevent future growth
•  Professional exterior painting to fully rejuvenate the building

Each stage was carefully planned to ensure proper surface preparation and long-lasting results. This approach is only effective when carried out by experienced contractors using specialist equipment—both of which Brooklands provides in-house.

Work took place in November 2020 during half term, allowing us to complete the transformation with zero disruption to pupils or staff. The team worked onsite for five days, and upon return, the school community was greeted by a building restored to its former glory.

The results were dramatic. The building’s appearance was fully revived, the site was left spotless, and the client was delighted with both the quality of the work and the minimal disruption.
