Restoration of Beautiful Stone Building

This fantastic stone heritage building in Sheffield was in need of some restoration cleaning to unveil the stones original colour of the stone and, beautiful features hiding under dirt and grime that had built up over years.

Formally the site of a drugs rehabilitation centre that stars such as Amy Winehouse had visited.  Now a care home the owner wanted the building to be restored for its occupiers and visitors.

The building was sat for many years and needed a careful clean by experienced operatives to remove the atmospheric pollutants whilst maintaining the patina of the stone and keeping the sharpness of the detailed carvings which we achieved through our delicate cleaning methods.  Due to the age of the building and the carved features in the stone, this cleaning method was too harsh and damaged the decorative features and stone.

Through our experience carrying out specialist cleaning services, we knew that a more delicate approach to clean the stone was required.  We used a combination of Chemical Stone cleaning and DOFF cleaning to carefully remove the debris and keep all the intracate stone features in tact.

The team worked onsite for two weeks cleaning all the exterior stone of the building. The results transformed the siteand the owners were delighted.
