Brooklands were urgently deployed to support a major food manufacturer following a significant spillage incident that required immediate containment and remediation. Food oil waste had covered an excess of 600m2 causing a major problem for our client.

Project Delivery

Upon arrival, our specialist response team conducted a rapid site assessment to determine the scale of the spill and implement safe and effective clean-up strategy. Given the nature and volume of the material involved, the operation required the use of advanced industrial cleaning equipment, including high-capacity industrial vacuums, pressure washers, and heavy-duty floor scrapers. This ensured thorough removal of residue while maintaining safety and hygiene standards expected within a food production environment.

Due to the size of the job, Brooklands attended over multiple shifts and mobilised several vehicles with full teams to attend during each shift to handle the demand. The works took a total of 3 days to complete with up to 5 team members and three vehicles on site each day.

The waste and excess waste generated during the clean-up was carefully contained in multiple Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) to prevent further contamination and facilitate safe handling. Brooklands coordinated the removal process with a licensed specialist waste carrier, ensuring full compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.

Despite the challenging conditions and urgency of the situation, the project was completed efficiently and with minimal disruption to the client’s operations. This case highlights Brooklands’ ability to respond rapidly to emergency situations, deploy specialist equipment, and deliver compliant, high-quality results under pressure.
